Q. I am curious. What was your inspiration for T245 The Seeker and T247 Impression? T245 looks like it was designed using 8 shells from the sea. I have also heard another collector comment that they resemble shark’s teeth. T247 reminds me of a sea biscuit shell. Both tiles are stunning and rather unique. Thanks!
Q: Do you do traditional carvings that are inspired by Canadian indigenous cultures? Here in New Zealand, we have beautiful aboriginal designs and I wonder if you would be interested in them. Your work is best in your own words, "timeless quality of enduring beauty." I love it and it graces our walls. Thank you.
Q: It is great to see the Ask Sid up and running. I want to know if you will ever be putting a book together, featuring your blocks and some of your thoughts in regards to them? I know that the collectors would love something along this line. Maybe you could make it a limited edition, collectors treasure. Thank you for being you.
Q: I absolutely love and admire my collection (38) of Sid Dickens tiles. As I stare at them frequently I always wonder at the thought process in the creation of these works of art. What do you see that grabs you? How do you minimize that thought into that one small artistic creation?
Q: Any chance you can give a sneak peek of which tiles you plan on retiring this spring? Now that you have teased us with the new Spring Collection (which is delightful!), the anticipation is more than we can bear!
Q: We received two blocks for gifts and have no idea how to display them. They do not seem to be appropriate to hang and the back is too rough to put on furniture. What do you recommend?
